Greetings,
With this post I want to let you know that I placed a file on my website, which includes my drawdown interpretations of the Jacob Biesecker manuscript. Click on Jacob Biesecker to link to the file. I completed it in February 2018 and was reluctant to post it on my website, since I was sure I would make revisions. I have made some changes and feel comfortable enough to share it with you. It is in “Draft” form, to allow for fine tuning.
This manuscript is a valuable addition to our landscape of Pennsylvania German weaving. The manuscript is not too large (33 pages), but it still includes a representation of the patterns and weave structures used by the 19th century Pennsylvania German weavers.
For the past year I have also been writing articles for the Complex Weavers Early American Coverlet & Counterpane Study Group Newsletter concerning my interpretive drawdowns of the various weave structures in the Biesecker manuscript. I will eventually include these articles on the Notebook section of my website. Let me know if you are interested in learning more about Jacob Biesecker’s manuscript.
If you want to be on my email list for notification of future blogs, send me your email address to coverletweaver@gmail.com.
